What are the requirements for a cold room?

Cold storages must be installed from a variety of aspects, to meet the storage capacity required by the company's products, but also to ensure the quality and service life of the cold room. So what are the requirements for a cold room?

1. Installation site requirements

Cold storages installation requires a strong, smooth base, such as a horizontal concrete plinth. When the base is tilted or uneven, the base must be repaired and leveled. This site also needs to be well-ventilated, with low humidity, preferably in a place protected from light and rain. If the freezer room needs to be installed outdoors, then an additional roof capable of keeping out the sun and rain should be erected. An independent drainage system should be established in the cold room to drain the water generated in the cold room so as not to affect normal use.

2. Installation material requirements

Firstly, cold storages require that the interior of the cold store always maintains the specific temperature required for the normal preservation of the product. Then to achieve this constant temperature, the walls and floor of the freezer room should be paved with a certain thickness of insulation structural material. This is to reduce the heat transfer from the outside world, which affects the fixed temperature inside the cold room. Also in order to reduce the impact of solar radiation energy on the cold store, the external surfaces are usually chosen to be painted white or light colored.

3. Structural requirements for installation

The installation of a cold store must take into account how to prevent water vapor and air penetration from diffusing into the cold storages and bringing moisture. This is because the condensation of moisture will lead to the development of changes in the engineering structure, especially if the insulation structure is damaged by moisture and freezing. So to set up a moisture insulation layer, the freezer room has a good sealing and moisture isolation performance. Cold storages foundation is affected by low temperatures, soil moisture is easy to freeze. Because the soil environment for freezing, and volume expansion, will cause the ground rupture and the whole project structure deformation, serious will make the cold room can not be used normally. Therefore, in addition to the effective insulation layer, the floor of the cold storages must be treated under the insulation layer to prevent the soil from freezing.

In short, cold store buildings are strictly insulated, sealed, solid, and frost-proof to ensure the quality of the building. The requirements for installation vary from industry to industry.
